Am I a Good Candidate for Fastbraces®?

Fastbraces offer people who are trying to straighten their teeth a faster alternative to traditional braces. In addition to straightening teeth quickly, people who have used Fastbraces have reported feeling less pain than those who wore traditional braces.

How do I know if I am a good candidate for Fastbraces?

Fastbraces are designed to be used by anyone trying to straighten their teeth. Unlike other teeth straightening alternatives, like clear aligners, which are limited to teenagers and adults, Fastbraces can be used to straighten the teeth of children and adults.

During the consultation, the dentist will examine the patient’s mouth to see if there are any signs of tooth decay or gum disease, which might prevent the patient from getting Fastbraces. If they determine that the patient is in good oral health, they will be able to proceed with the treatment.

How do Fastbraces work?

Traditional braces move the teeth into place in two stages, usually over the course of two years. During the first year, the teeth move into alignment. In the second year, the position of the tooth root is addressed.

With Fastbraces, the triangular brackets used as well as the square wires used to hold the brackets in place, start to correct the position of the tooth root as soon as the patient begins the treatment. This allows their teeth to move into the desired position more quickly.

How long does the treatment take?

Straightening the teeth with Fastbraces usually takes anywhere from three months to a year to complete treatment, depending on the severity of the patient’s condition. The treatment is completed faster because the technology used for Fastbraces moves the roots of the teeth from the beginning of the treatment instead of having to wait a year as traditional braces require. In some cases, patients begin to see results in a matter of weeks.

Are Fastbraces painful?

As previously mentioned, people who get Fastbraces have reported experiencing less pain than people who have used traditional braces. Research has also shown that Fastbraces are not as painful as traditional braces because the braces have low mean frictional forces. This reduces the sliding friction and pain reduction associated with traditional braces.

Are Fastbraces as expensive as traditional braces?

Even though they straighten your teeth faster than traditional braces, Fastbraces are not as expensive as most people would think. They cost close to half the price of traditional braces.

Will I need to wear a retainer after treatment is complete?

Yes, people who use Fastbraces will have to wear a retainer even after their teeth have been straightened. The teeth will slide back into their previous position if they do not wear a retainer after treatment.

Patients are advised to wear their retainers for at least eight hours every day after treatment is complete. The dentist will let the patient know if they have to wear the retainer for longer periods of time.

Conclusion

Fastbraces allow people to straighten their teeth more quickly than they would with traditional braces and at a fraction of the cost. If you have crooked teeth and want to straighten them quickly, schedule an appointment with your dentist to find out if you are an ideal candidate for Fastbraces.
