FAQ About Fastbraces

Fastbraces® are the quickest way to improve the alignment of crooked teeth. These appliances are permanently fixed in place after their installation and they can move teeth to better alignment within a few months.

Frequently asked questions about fastbraces®

With so many orthodontic devices that can be used to straighten teeth like traditional metal braces and clear aligners, it can be hard to decide which appliance to choose. Outlined below are the answers to some of the questions you might have about fastbraces®.

Q. What are fastbraces®?

Fastbraces® are an innovative way to straighten teeth that shares many similarities with traditional metal braces. Both devices use wires and brackets to push teeth to the desired alignment. Both devices stay in the patient's mouth for the duration of their treatment.

The main difference between the two appliances is the fact fastbraces® use triangular brackets, instead of the rectangular ones used for traditional braces, and the squared wires used to connect the brackets.

Q. Why do fastbraces produce faster results?

The triangular brackets and the squared wires used for fastbraces lead to faster results than traditional braces. It allows the device to push teeth crowns and roots at the same time.

Traditional metal braces can only push one of these areas at a time. For many patients, the first year of treatment is spent pushing the top part of their teeth, while the second year is used to move teeth roots. This makes fastbraces the more efficient way to straighten teeth.

Q. How long are treatment times with fastbraces?

Fastbraces typically take somewhere between three months and a year to push the patient's teeth to the desired position. Some patients begin to see results in as little as a month. Traditional braces take an average of two to three years to straighten teeth.

Q. Will I need to have teeth extracted if I have crowding problems?

No. That is one of the huge benefits that come with fastbraces. Traditional metal braces sometimes require extractions to create space on the jaw, but with fastbraces, crowding can be easily addressed without extraction.

Q. Are fastbraces uncomfortable?

There is always an adjustment period when it comes to orthodontic appliances like traditional braces and fastbraces. While it is normal to experience some discomfort when wearing fastbraces, these devices are more comfortable than traditional metal ones.

Q. Will I need a retainer after my treatment?

People who get their teeth straightened with appliances like clear aligners and braces typically have to wear a retainer after their treatment to prevent their teeth from reverting to their old positions. Many have to wear their retainer all day long or when they go to bed.

People who straighten their teeth with fastbraces only have to wear a retainer for about 15 minutes per day after their treatment.
